Principal's Message

Dear Anacapa Families,

Welcome to Quarter 2 of the 2020-21 school year! I am happy to be back from maternity leave, and I'm excited to work with our school community.

I want to reassure you and your family that Anacapa Middle School and the entire district have been working diligently to support the distance learning model. At this time, our middle and high school students will remain in a 100% distance learning model until the end of the first semester, which is at the end of January 2021, as we decided in July. If something changes, we will notify families.

Thank you and your family for the commitment to work with us to engage in structured and flexible distance learning opportunities this school year. Our focus this quarter continues to center around the safety of our students, staff, and families. Let's work together to continue to support our students to have a successful quarter by promoting:

  • Attending and participating in synchronous class instruction and class meetings
  • Engaging with class materials on Canvas by completing and submitting assignments
  • Participating in live social-emotional learning every Wednesday

We want our students to engage, connect, and learn! We continue learning and growing with you. We are going through this together and are committed to assisting you through the process. We will also continue to celebrate those victories in learning ahead of us!

Thank you,

Mayra Vega-Manriquez, Principal

Anacapa Middle School

The Anacapa School community provides a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential. All students are challenged academically and feel a personal connection to the school. Students are taught to understand the importance of accepting others and to be responsible members of our culturally diverse society. Through example, the Anacapa staff teaches students the positive resolve of maintaining personal integrity. The entire school community takes pride in the reality that, working together, we can succeed and make a difference.
