School Letter Grades Released: We are an A!
Way to go BOBCATS! Today, at our TRACKS Meet, we had the pleasure of announcing to our Bobcats community that we continue to be an A rated school. We know that state testing is only one way to measure the growth and achievement that happens all year long, however, it is quite an accomplishment & deserves to be celebrated.
Our teachers, staff, and students are consistently dedicated to academic achievement and we are proud of all the hard work, perseverance, grit, and effort that goes into learning & teaching each year!
Keep working hard Bobcats!
We hope you enjoyed your cookies and celebration today!
It's A Great Day to be a Bobcat! Lots to celebrate at the TRACKS Meet today.

Join us in welcoming new families to our community...
Bobcats,
As you may be aware, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is developing a large Fab in North Phoenix within the boundaries of Deer Valley Unified School District. TSMC will hire hundreds of local staff members and is also bringing employees from their main location in Taiwan. Families began arriving in Arizona this summer and many more will join us this fall.
One of the reasons TSMC chose to locate their new U.S. Fab in north Phoenix is because they recognize that Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) has outstanding schools, teachers, and programs. TSMC families are excited about what our schools have to offer. In fact, students are registered at more than 15 different schools across DVUSD.
During this school year, Sonoran Foothills expects to welcome approximately 35 students from TSMC families. We know it can be difficult for students to start at a new school, especially one in a new country. We want to welcome these students as we would want our own students to be welcomed if they moved to a new country, with a different culture and language.
We have set up tours and school visits for families prior to their student’s first day of school. During these tours, the families will get to connect with current student leaders to learn more about TRACKS expectations and what to expect at school each day. These student leaders will then follow up with our new students to provide support during the transition. Additionally, teachers are using recommended literature to familiarize themselves with the Taiwan culture and create a welcoming community within the classrooms.
Over the next few months, we look forward to connecting with our new families during campus & community events. We are excited to grow our SF community and thankful to know that our school is filled with smiling and friendly faces as we welcome our newest students.

Weekly Message from the Founder of ALL THINGS EQ (Danna Evans):
The motto in school this week is:
I make the most out of each experience.
It's easy to make the most out of a good day, but it takes skill to make the most out of a day that isn't going well. Perhaps that's why they say if you want to get to know someone, watch how they react to unpleasant circumstances such as traffic jams, crowded airports, or spilled milk. It is hard to feel positive when you are frustrated.
While we can't always choose our conditions (traffic, crowds, or spilled milk), we can always choose how we are going to experience those conditions. As parents, it's important to model how we handle the frustrating moments in our life. My husband is the best at focusing on his response rather than the event.
For example:
- Our kids spill milk, and he makes a dad joke and says, "Clean up aisle five."
- The car breaks down, and he says, "If we are going to have a problem, this is a good one to have."
- The kids make a mistake, and he says, "Now you know for next time."
Adversity seems to roll off his back like water on a duck. What's even more impressive is that he wasn't always like this; as a child, he worried a lot. One thought that helped him quite a bit was the old saying; Happiness is something you decide ahead of time. We don't have to wait for life to be perfect in order to be happy. We can make the most out of each experience we have, even when it's raining and even when someone spills the milk.
A nice way to teach this skill to your kids is to have them focus on how they can help rather than what's in it for me. When we sit back and judge our experiences, we feel more removed from them, as if they are happening to us and we have no ability to exert our own influence on the experience. However, when our kids focus on how I can help improve this experience for myself and others, they feel more empowered to make a positive difference.
