Project Linus Make a Blanket Day
The mission of Project Linus is to provide comfort for critically ill and traumatized children (ages 0-18) through the distribution of handmade blankets. Every half-year we host Make a Blanket Day, an event where people from the community come together to make blankets with the help of our staff and we are asking for your help in publicizing our event to your student body. No previous blanket-making experience is required! Service hours are also guaranteed for all those who choose to participate.
This event will take place on Saturday, February 22th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the College of the Canyons (Valencia Campus) EAST gym. We would greatly appreciate it if your school could promote our event. Anyone who volunteers at Make a Blanket Day will not only learn the basic skills of making blankets but also further contribute to their community by providing more blankets to distribute to needy children of SCV and beyond.
CAASPP Testing
Arroyo Seco’s state CAASPP testing window is April 27 through May 15. Testing will occur in students’ English, Math, History and Science classes. For your convenience and planning purposes, we have attached the testing schedule. We will be testing in small chunks over several days to help ease test anxiety and fatigue. Please plan accordingly and avoid scheduling medical appointments, etc., during this time to help us ensure full participation.
