CALVIN PARK UPDATE
Week of October 12-16, 2020
Although Thanksgiving this year may have looked different than past celebrations, we hope that you found something to be thankful for this weekend, even if it was not what you might have expected. This year, we are thankful for our families, friends, students and staff. We are grateful for the variety of fall colours -- they are stunning this year! We are also feeling particularly thankful for our successful first month back at school. This success has been a team effort, with each member of the Calvin Park community playing a role in keeping us all safe, healthy and learning at school. Thank you for your continuing support during this challenging year. Thank you for being diligent with physical distancing, small social bubbles, handwashing, mask wearing, and daily screening at home.
An important reminder to families that immunizations for Grade 7 students will not take place at the school this year so please make an appointment for your child's immunizations at KFLA Public Health (information and links below). In addition, students who were in Grade 7 at Calvin Park last year missed their second immunization at school in the spring, so please make an appointment at KFLA Public Health if you haven't completed your child's second immunization through your family doctor.
We hope that you enjoyed the long weekend!
Please take care of each other and stay well,
Mrs. Elizabeth Suriyuth, Principal suriyuthe@limestone.on.ca
Ms. Wilma Pettingill, Vice-Principal pettingillw@limestone.on.ca

POTENTIAL BUS DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS
Tri-Board Student Transportation has indicated there will likely be more bus delays and cancellations this year due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Transportation to and from school is not guaranteed. Families should have a backup plan to transport their student(s) to school, and to arrange child care where required, if their bus is cancelled for any reason and they cannot transport their student to school.
Families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account.
