2015 FALL PEP RALLY

On Tuesday, November 24th, Tamanend hosted its first pep rally of the school year! The cheerleaders kicked off the celebration with two amazing performances, one from the blue squad and the other from the gold squad. The Student Council officers then took a moment to recognize each of our fall sports teams, including football, soccer, tennis, and field hockey. A special congratulations goes out to our 8th grade field hockey team for clinching the district championship! They were presented with a special trophy at the pep rally! Great job lady tigers! The 9th grade team also reigned supreme in our annual spirit cheer competition…their volume was unmatched! And finally, the Student Faculty Volleyball competition played out in two 10 minute halves, with the faculty team dominating their 9th grade opponents with a final score of 34-17. Thank you to all our participants! Student Council would also like to thank 9th grader Caterina B. for singing our National Anthem and the AMAZING 9th grade pep band under the direction of Mr. Werner.

Paperback Book Donation

Our Community Service Club is sponsoring a new/gently used middle school age appropriate paperback book collection. Aidan B, a 7th grade student, whose idea it was is heading up the service project by placing a bin in the front office for the collection of the books and will also transport the books that are donated to the Martha Washington Elementary School and Penn Treaty Middle School in Philadelphia. His goal is to make sure every student in each school gets a book. So, clean out your bookcase or purchase a new book and bring it to Tamanend's Front office and place them in the labeled bin.
