June Newsletter
First the Good News . . . .
But, as anyone knows who's ever had major work done on their house, all these good things come at the price of disruption. For at least two weeks sometime between now and August 1st, we will have to close the parking lot and back entrance to allow for excavation to waterproof our foundation. Replacing the air conditioners will mean that we will be without ac for some amount of time. (If anyone has an extra fan, we'll be looking for loaners.) The front entrance may be closed during sidewalk repair. We will do everything possible to stagger these things and avoid closing the library completely but that may become necessary.
The price of progress is usually inconvenience of some kind and we can only try to minimize it and stay as cheerful as possible. We will do our best to notify everyone when we know exactly when all the craziness will happen but please consider this a heads-up.
Worse comes to worst, we will have some construction horror stories to rival Claudia's from the 2003 renovation, although that is a really high bar I hope not to reach.
A separate Summer Reading newsletter is on its way!
An important fundraiser to benefit the library.
