World Events

Mr. Bruno communicated some resources relative to the ongoing war in Ukraine at the end of the week. Students returning to school may have varying knowledge of the events unfolding on the world stage. If your children are struggling with these recent events, know that our mental health team can be a support system during the school day. Students can reach out to their classroom teachers if they wish to talk with Mrs. Caldwell or Mrs. Knapp. I'm not going to encourage whole class conversations on the topic unless the classroom teacher notices a need for it. The subject may still come up in school, but staff will try to monitor and encourage conversations to occur in a more private setting than the classroom.

Read Across America Week

This week is Read Across America Week. Elementary students are encouraged to participate as much as they choose in the following themed days this week:


Monday: Ready to learn, ready to read wear, your favorite shade of green!

Wear Green Clothing


Tuesday: Use your head!

Wear as many hair/head accessories as you can

(homemade are great and hats count)


Wednesday: A wacky world of many colors

Wear a wacky outfit with as many colors as you can!


Thursday: Books Rock My Socks

Wear crazy or mismatched Socks


Friday: Cozy up with a good book

Wear PJs or comfy clothes

Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month and I plan to read brief excerpts regarding women in history. I also encourage students to write and submit their ideas for the morning announcements.
