Shadow a Student Day-Wednesday Octobet 26th
On October 26, 2016, All Principals in the Bellaire Feeder pattern will be participating in the Shadow a Student Challenge. We will be part of a national community of school leaders clearing our calendars, silencing our walkie-talkies, throwing on sneakers, and immersing ourselves in student life for a day. My goal is to improve the student experience at Lovett by better understanding the student perspective. I look forward joining this community of educators committed to rethinking the student experience – starting by walking in the shoes of a student. I will notify the student selected on October 25th and contacting their parents to share what the day will be like. I'm super excited and already headed shopping for my school supplies!

Halloween Costume Guidelines
Halloween is just around the corner and is on a Monday! Students are welcomed to wear costumes to school, however there are a few guidelines they must follow. Also a reminder that this is a normal school day. We do not host class parties or activities on Halloween.
Costumes must be worn without any sharp or dangerous objects (weapons of ANY kind, fake or pretend; chains; skates; spray cans; & the like). Leave those items at home.
Costumes should be tasteful & respectful of the school community
Face masks are not permitted. Instead, face painting with the face visible is allowed.
Students should wear school clothes under the costumes or bring a change of clothes if they are unable to wear their costume the entire day.
Lastly, this year we are all aware of everything that has been in the news with the clown scare. This is still s sensitive topic for students. Please avoid selecting any costumes or facial paint that would resemble clowns.
We want the day to be fun for kids, however remember, it's learning as usual and we will contact parents if a student's costume causes a distraction to the learning environment. Please contact your child's teacher is you are unsure about a costume choice.
