In The Know
Churchill High School Food Pantry - Why: Families need support. Students struggle to learn if they are not receiving base needs.
Where: Distribution days at Churchill, 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, 1-3. If these times are not convenient, please call or email Lancelot Falcon (falcon_l@4j.lane.ed, 541-790-5104 office) to schedule a time/day that works better.
Items we can always use: Canned protein (tuna, chicken, etc.), canned vegetables, canned fruit, soups/stews (canned and boxed), chili, canned pasta meals (ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, etc.), grains, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, baking (muffin mix, pancake mix, etc.), peanut butter, stuffing, dehydrated potatoes, gravy (canned/package), granola bars, breakfast bars, protein bars, any non-perishable foods not listed and gift cards/cash. Cash donations will be accepted via https://schoolpay.com, given during library distributions or given to office staff.
We appreciate all of your help in the past and all of your help for the future. Churchill High School loves its students, families and the community of Eugene.
Free and Reduced Lunch - students can still benefit from free meals and reduced fees (athletics, college board SAT, AP, college application waivers, etc.). This needs to be filled out each year. The FRL program provides supports from October through September. You can apply at any time, but you need to apply every year. Here is the link to apply for Free and Reduced Meals:
- Apply online (English and Spanish): https://www.ode.state.or.us/apps/frlapp
- Print the application and submit: English / Spanish (coming soon!)
- Pick up and submit a paper application from an school site or the District office
Athletic Registration for the 2020–2021 school year is open. Thank you for your patience as we worked out a few kinks in the program last week. At this point things should be ironed out. Optional pre-season workouts begin on January 25. Student-athletes must register and have a current sports physical on file at the school. See the 4J School District announcement here.
Click here to register for athletics.
Use the email address associated with your student’s record to create your account. This is the email address where you receive announcements from the school. If you are not sure which email address to use, call the front office at 541-790-5100. We recommend using the Chrome web browser, available for download here.
Sports Physicals will be accepted at the Distribution and Drop Off event at Churchill on Thursday, January 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Due to COVID restrictions, sports physical forms received after this date will not be processed in time to clear the student-athlete to participate in the optional pre-season workouts on Monday, January 25.
Note: Churchill is not accepting payment for athletic fees at this time. Payment is not required in order to participate in the optional pre-season conditioning. Athletes and their parents will be notified when our office is ready to receive payment for athletic fees.

Kudos
Shout out to Counselors and SpEd teachers for the quick response to get our student's accommodations into the College Board system for AP testing on short notice. I'm [Casandra] always reminded of the quote "An oversight on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part." In this case it was my oversight that did cause an emergency for these folks. Thank you for your collective team work and professionalism.
Textbook Distribution - I would like to go on the record again and thank Debbie, Tiffany, Guy, Scott, and Jill for their hard work and effort in getting textbooks checked out to students and families. It is always an impressive endeavor and without their help out classrooms would be hard pressed to move forward. Thank you to such an incredible team.
