Year 5 Weekly Update

Week 5
The ESF review team were in school at the beginning of this week and due to the Typhoon on Tuesday, they will now also be in on Friday 26th September to get to know Beacon Hill in more detail.

This week in number groups...
Miss Burley's group have been renaming numbers up to 3 decimal places (e.g. 3.496 = 34 tenths & 96 thousandths).
Mr Dray's group have been comparing and ordering numbers up to 2 decimal places through measurement (e.g. 1.84 m).
Mrs Angell's group have been expanding numbers up to 6 digits and looking at the value of a digit within a number.
Mr Pheasant's group have been creating posters to show their understanding of our base 10 number system, showing how we partition numbers and how we know how to say numbers up to a million.
Unit of Inquiry - Who We Are
Developing social and emotional skills may help us to learn better, get along with others and feel better about ourselves.
Each week we will be giving you some discussion points to use at home to check your child's understanding and to prepare them for next week's learning. This weeks are:
