What is Turners Syndrom?
When a women/girl is missing or partially missing a sex/X chromosome.
Causes & Complications

- heart problems
- hearing loss
- kidney problems
- risk of cardiovascular disease
- missing an X chromsome
- prevents ovaries from developing
- will be infertile
- wont be able to be pregnant on own
Testing/ Treatment/ Life outlook
Testing
- lab testing
- screening test
- Chorionic villus sampling
- Amniocentesis
- can be treated with growth hormones
- Estrogen Replacement therapy (ERT)
- No cure
- They can live as long as everyone else with the right medication
- Their average height is about 4 feet 7in.
prevention
- There is currently no known method of prevention for Turner syndrome.
- This disorder occurs randomly and is not inherited.
- If a mother has the disorder, it does not necessarily mean that her daughters will as well.
