Global Play Day - Wednesday, February 6th

We are excited for our students to participate in the upcoming Global School Play Day on Wednesday, February 6th. While we won't be dedicating the entire day to play as some schools do, we plan to dedicate a portion of the day to nurture the very important skills of collaboration, communication and creativity during play. Please see the flyer below for more details.

Friday Flag Deck - Begins February 7th

Our long awaited Roadrunner Friday Flag Deck will begin next week! Each Friday morning our DASH Squad and staff will gather our school community behind the activity center and in front of our DASH mural for flag deck from 8:20 until 8:30. This gathering will serve as a time to say the Pledge of Allegiance, to sing our school song and to make special announcements and acknowledgements. We are excited to have you join us whenever you can to be a part of this special school routine. :)

P.E. Preparedness

Please be sure that you send your child to school prepared with sneakers/athletic shoes and clothing conducive to game play on his/her PE days. All students have their largest time block of PE on Thursdays. If you are unsure about the other classroom PE schedules, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher. Thanks so much for your support!

It's time to take the IUSD Annual Survey!

If you haven't already done so, please take a few minutes to complete our IUSD Annual Survey. This is the fifth year that every school in Irvine Unified will administer a climate survey. By making this an annual district-wide effort, we can begin to understand our most compelling needs and measure our growth over time.

Obtaining stakeholder feedback regarding school climate and school-community relationship is critical for guiding our continuous improvement efforts. It also allows IUSD to dedicate resources through our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) to ensure that we serve our students, support our staff, and remain connected to our communities. To learn more about the LCAP and the importance of the Annual Survey, please watch this three-minute informative video. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the IUSD Annual Survey! We know that this is a busy time of year and we appreciate you dedicating your time to provide us candid and constructive feedback. The survey will be open until February 7, 2020. All responses to this survey are anonymous and will be kept strictly confidential.

Parent Education Opportunity: Substance Use & Vaping Dangers

IUSD, in partnership with Hoag Hospital, will host a Substance Use and Vaping Dangers parent night on February 4 in the Irvine High School Theater from 6:30-8 p.m. Topics include:

-Health impacts and dangers of vaping
-Available resources and supports for families

After the presentation, a panel of experts from IUSD, Hoag and the Irvine Police Department will be on hand for a question and answer session.

This event is free and open to the public (ages 16+ recommended). No RSVP need.
