CLASSROOM SPOTLIGHT

This week we are going to do something a little different and have a classroom spotlight. Mrs. Brewer's Fifth Grade class participated in a lab where they performed Digestive System demonstrations. Please enjoy the pictures below.

UPCOMING INFORMATION

END OF FIRST QUARTER

We are nearing the end of our first quarter of school. We have been so blessed to be able to attend school in-person and virtually for an entire quarter. We are looking forward to continuing this trend the rest of the school year. Our first quarter ends Thursday, October 22, 2020.

TEXT MESSAGING

The Opt-in day for signing up for our School Messenger texting service will be Friday, October 23rd. This text will be sent to you at 4:00 pm and please choose "Opt-In". This will allow us to send messages to you through text as opposed to it always being a phone call.

1st Annual Read-A-Thon

This year we will be starting a new fundraiser for HASA. Instead of the Walk-a-Thon, we will have a Read-a-Thon. The Read-a-Thon will kick-off on Monday, October 26, 2020. Please stay tuned for more information from HASA and an explanation of the special days we will have during the Read-a-Thon.

DRESS UP DAY

On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, we will have our picture re-take day. If you had pictures taken and you want your child to have it re-taken, please bring in the first set of pictures and we will have them do the re-takes.

On this day the school will also have an all-school dress up day. If your child chooses not to participate, they will be required to wear their school uniform. Please make sure the dress clothes follow all school dress-code guidelines in regards to the length of skirts or dresses, and avoid form fitting clothes.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Our parent/teacher conferences will be held on October 28th and October 29th. You have the option of having either an in-person conference or a virtual conference. Please send back your form to Mrs. Etter if you are wanting an in-person conference. All virtual conferences should be scheduled with your child's classroom teacher.

Wednesday, October 28th, we will have an early dismissal at 1:00 pm due to conferences.

FALL BREAK

We will have our school's Fall break on Thursday October 29th and Friday, October 30th. Take time to enjoy the Fall weather with family.

VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK

November 2nd through the 4th is Vocation Awareness Week. This will also be happening during our Read-a-Thon. We will be blessed to have two Deacons come to our school and read to the younger students, as well as discuss their vocation with our older students. Please help me pray and welcome Deacon Dan Koehl and Deacon Scott Graham.

DISTANT/VIRTUAL LEARNING DAY

On Thursday, November 5th, we will have our first all-school Distant/Virtual Learning day. Grades 3 through 8 will have their Chromebooks at home and will work on lessons through Google Classroom. Grades PK - 2nd will provide hands-on activities and possibly a Read-a-Loud on video.

NO SCHOOL

Friday, November 6th, students and staff will have no school. Enjoy the long weekend.
