Battle of the Brains Update
We turned in each day's proposal. Each day picked a different BIG idea:
Monday- Math Mania
Tuesday- Tech Time
Wednesday- Captivating Chemistry
Thursday- Electri-CITY
Friday- Out of this World!
We can't wait to share with you the proposal and video at conferences.
We are so impressed with the depth of thinking and collaboration we've seen.

Holiday Shopping Idea- Logic Games!
We recently celebrated completing and submitting our Battle of the Brains proposals by breaking out our "Games of Logic." The kids had the best time together, playfully practicing critical thinking and persistence. If you need a gift idea, the following list has some great games:
PEAK Curriculum
Theme - Students have selected a World Problem to research. All students have written an essential question to drive research, headings to help organize research, and started taking the actual notes. We will take notes in theme over the next 8 weeks.
Math - Students are wrapping up their first math choice. Choices included Number Systems (Base 6, Base 5, Base 2), Shopping Spree, or Math Competition. Students in Math Competition will be taking their test the first or second full of November.
Conference Prep - Students are preparing their portion of the parent - student - teacher conference.
Look Ahead:
Independent Investigation:
After parent -teacher conferences, students will be selecting a personal passion/topic to research and study.
Science: We will begin a new science unit answering the essential question: How can I use the scientific method to determine whether consumers should spend extra money on name brand products?
Shopping Spree Fun!
