They came to power completely in Afghanistan for 5 years. In 2001, when their rule in Afghanistan was over, many of them fled to live in Pakistan. Many Taliban members still live in Pakistan today and move slowly away from the border, where they can gain strength and power. Even today Taliban members rule in parts of Pakistan.
