A Message from our Assistant Principal: Donuts for Dads
I am super excited about tomorrow’s Doughnuts and Dads event. Last year there were well over 300 dads that entered our building. We understand that fathers matter! Research says that children of engaged dads are less inclined to drop out of school, participate in dangerous practices, or violate the law, and are likely to have high IQ scores, and seek healthy relationships, and also are prone to hold down lucrative occupations (Krisch, 2018). Yes, dads make a big difference in the lives of their children. Dads’ consistent positive involvement is a win-win for everyone.
Here are a few reminders about tomorrow’s event:
Parking will be very limited. The kindergarten parking lot will be open for you to park as well as the visitors' parking spaces in the front parking lot. Please do not park along the fire lane in the front or in the grass.
If at all possible, please arrive at school with your child or children to prevent you from having to wait to be united with them.
The event will be held in our school’s courtyard. Please dress accordingly and follow the directional signs leading you to that area.
If you want to visit your child’s classroom following the event, you will be required to return to the lobby and sign in through Identa-Kid before doing so. Please be sure you have your ID.
We are not able to accept any additional RSVPs for this event and the names of students that will be attending with their dad have already been recorded. You are welcome, however, to visit and volunteer throughout the year. Thank you again, Dads, for being involved and engaged in the life of your child. Enjoy the rest of your day!
