Principal's Pulse

It is amazing how quickly the students have learned the procedures of the new year. They are learning so much already. Oh, it is going to be so fun watching them grow this year!

We want to thank everyone who was able to attend the PTA meeting on Tuesday night. Please click on the link below to get a summary of the topics covered if you were not able to make it.

Please join us for the Brown Bag Lunch with the Principal scheduled on Wednesday, September 9th from 11:45 - 12:45 in the library. This is a good time to connect with other parents, get your questions answered, offer suggestions for improvement and/or get trained on a computer resource we use at school. Please join us on the 9th!

Remember to spark creativity and curiousity with your children, discuss their learning, build problem solving skills, play a game and have fun reading together. Your participation in the learning process from home makes all the difference in your child's success at school. Enjoy the three day weekend with your families.

Student Safety Before School

We open the front doors at 7:30 to allow students to enter to eat breakfast, attend tutoring and/or to be supervised by staff in the cafeteria and gym. Please do not drop off your children before 7:30 as there is not supervision for them until that time. Thank you for your help.

Football Game Safety at Panther Stadium

We would like to thank our VAES Panthers and their parents. Thank you for following the guidelines for keeping all of our patrons safe at the game last week. It sure made our job easier that night to see our youngest panthers choosing to be respectful and using integrity at the game.

Get Connected to VAES

Please Like Us on Facebook and Follow Us on Twitter @VaElementary as well as joining your child's classroom connection points which may include class newsletters, Remind texting accounts, etc. Join us for PTA meetings, Brown Bag Lunches, the Watch D.O.G.S. Kickoff, the Title I Parent Involvement Meeting and come volunteer on campus anytime. We want you to be a connected part to your child's education. It will make all the difference in your child's success this year. Let us know if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns.

I have sent out two School Messenger items so far this year. One was advertising Meet the Teacher Night, and I sent one at the end of the 1st day. If you did not receive one, as it just goes to the first parent listed for your child, you can add additional phone numbers and email addresses. Please go to our website at www.vanalstyneisd.org, Parents tab, and then School Messenger. It will give you directions for adding multiple family members to receive these messages from the school.
