Westy Academy Weekly Newsletter

Week of Nov. 22-26 2021

A Message From the Principal...

Hello, Owls!

We made it! Thanksgiving Break is now upon us, and we hope our students and families are preparing for some nice, relaxing and fun time together at home.

With Thanksgiving this week, I can say without doubt, that the food and hygiene supply donations we have received in classrooms has been tremendous! We cannot thank our students and families enough for the support and care you have given back to your community! Ms. Michelle and Ms. Angie made our first donation to Have a Heart this week, and the gratitude from them was overwhelming! With certainty, we have helped many, many people this holiday season. THANK YOU!

Nothing more to report this week! Enjoy the break, and we will see everyone back on Monday, Nov. 29th.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Mr. Warwick

"Tis the Season of Giving Classroom Competition!

Westy Academy is hoping to make a positive impact on our community--working together to have empathy for those less fortunate this holiday season! Let’s work together to help give back to our local community!

Please join us in our efforts as we kick off our 1st annual “’Tis the Season of Giving” Classroom Competition! Each classroom will participate in a school-wide food and supply drive benefiting our local Have a Heart Project, which works to serve WPS students and families with basic needs, food, supplies and holiday presents. Starting Thursday November 11th, 2021 each classroom and all students will be encouraged to bring in various items for donation over the coming weeks.

Donated items are awarded specific points, with more sought-after items worth higher values. On Tuesday, Dec. 14th, classroom totals will be calculated and the Prize Winners will be announced! Each week, teachers will tally up their classroom’s donated item points, and provide the weekly point total to the office.

At the end of the competition, the classroom with the highest donation points will win the

Grand Prize of a Skate City field trip during the school day on January 11th! 1st Runner-up classroom winner will receive a pizza party!

So…send those donations in with your students! We graciously thank you in advance for your help during our season of giving!
