Mrs. Radtke 4K Classroom News
Week of November 18th-22nd
Weekly Theme: Thanksgiving and Turkeys
This week we are going to learning more about turkeys and thanksgiving by doing some activities, reading books, doing finger plays and even doing a turkey cooking project, which is made from a fudge stripe cookie, nutter butter, chocolate chips and frosting. We will also be talking about what we are thankful for and drawing a picture to accompany their response.
Letter of the Week: Letter U
This week we learn the letter U by writing it using Hand Writing Without Tears and learning the sound by using Jolly Phonics. This weeks Jolly Phonics is the letter U and the motion that we do with our song is to keep one hand steady while raising the other one above it as if raising an umbrella. Please see the Jolly Phonics song below.

Cold Weather Attire
Every Tuesday we go outside for a recess. Please pack hats, gloves, and warm weather clothes so that we ensure your child is comfortable when playing outside. When the snow starts to fall, please send boots and snow pants on Tuesdays. Also, if your child wears boots to school, please send a change of shoes so that they don't track snow and mud into the classroom. Thanks!
Disguised Turkeys
Thank you everyone who have already returned your turkeys to class. We have had a very fun time sharing the turkeys and guessing where or what they are. The children love looking at the turkeys and the children that made the turkeys with their families are very proud! They are currently displayed in the classroom. You may return them by Tuesday so that they have some time to be displayed.
