April's Attendance and Behavior Challenge Starts Today
The next attendance and behavior challenge will run from March 20th-April 14th. As you may have noticed, the requirements for admission have become more challenging each month.
To encourage good behavior and outstanding citizenship, teachers and administrators have established criteria that each child must meet to attend the next celebration. The celebrations are designed to reward the students who go above and beyond the normal expectations. Students who earn a ticket to the monthly celebrations are examples of “The Cowboy Way.”
To earn a ticket to the April Celebration your student must have:
- 2 or less absences from March 20th-April 14th.
- Earn the designated number of stamps prior to April 14th. (14 out of 19)
- No more than 3 tardies from March 20th-April 14th.
- Have NO In-school Suspensions (ISS), Out of School Suspensions (OSS), and/or an office referral.
Your child will have the opportunity to earn a stamp each day. Students must earn 14 out of 19 stamps to attend the next attendance and behavior celebration. Students must be present to earn stamps. Students must meet all the above requirements to receive a ticket to the April Celebration.
How to earn a daily stamp for behavior?
1. Appropriate classroom behavior. Students are expected to follow directions and show respect to peers and adults. Students should not cause disruptions that interfere with learning in the classroom. If students are interfering with the learning environment of the classroom, they will not earn a stamp for that day.
2. Appropriate hallway and bathroom behavior. Our campus has very high expectations for hallway and bathroom behavior. Students who do not follow the expectations in the hallways and bathrooms will not earn a stamp for that day.
3. No inappropriate behavior reports from the fine arts teachers, P.E. coaches, hallway monitors, and/or cafeteria monitors. Again, our campus has very high expectations for appropriate behavior in all areas of the school. If students do not follow the expectations in the above areas, they will not earn a stamp for that day.
Families will be notified if a student does not earn a daily stamp. Please remind and encourage your student(s) to follow the expectations at Clark. Again, excellent behavior in all areas is our campus expectation. Students are expected to be safe, responsible, and respectful. If you have questions about grade level behavior expectations, you can always contact your child’s teacher.
Yearbook Extras
Tomorrow (3/21/23) your student will receive information on how to purchase a special thoughts message.
In addition, 5th graders will also receive information on how to purchase a then and now photo for the yearbook.
Both are due by March 28th. No late forms/orders will be accepted.
Important Dates
Interim Assessments
Interim Assessments:
Interims are used to assess how students will perform on the STAAR test later this year. Students have not learned all the material, but it allows teachers to see how they are progressing with the content material. Interims are not used for grades. Interims are given like they are the real STAAR test.

Clark's Autism Awareness Day
At Clark, we would like to celebrate Autism Awareness Day on April 3rd. Students can wear blue and/or autism awareness shirts to show support and unity.
When we wear blue, it's not only about keeping that conversation going about autism but, it is also making sure that those with autism and their families don't feel alone. So on April 3rd and throughout Autism Awareness Month please wear blue, and have others do the same.
Talent Show Rehearsal and Performance
Dress rehearsal is scheduled for April 12th from 5:30-7:00.
The Talent Show Performance starts at 6:30pm on April 13th.
