We need your help!
Parents, attendance matters. With all of the challenges we are facing, our students are losing academic gains and struggling to stay connected. Virtual learning and concurrent teaching are options in which we are tackling the unfortunate circumstances before us. However, they are not a good replacement for face to face instruction. Students need to interact with their teachers and virtual learning is a way for us to connect, but for it to be effective, we must have 100% participation and cooperation from all stakeholders.
We have lots of students who are now on our retention list due to failing grades and poor attendance.
Making the Grade!
Parents - Let's work together to ensure your child's success!
Are you checking your child's assignments, daily? Are you looking at the gradebook on a weekly basis. Are you constantly communicating with the teacher about your child's progress?
Please use our Resource Binders we sent home to get an understanding of what is expected for your child to learn this year. Also, use the questions to help guide your next conversation with your child's teacher. Accountability is all of our business. Let's keep our scholars learning and succeeding!

PARENTS OF MIDDLE OR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The Window to Change Your Secondary Student’s Learning Option is Now Open
The window to change your secondary student’s learning option for the next marking period is now open.
Any middle or high school student wishing to move from remote learning to in-person or from in-person to remote learning for the 5th marking period should do so by Friday, Feb. 12. Please visit www.springisd.org/change and fill out the form.
If your remote learner has been struggling academically or with attendance, we’d encourage you to consider in-person learning for the 5th marking period, which starts Monday, Feb. 22.
We would like to encourage more of our remote learners to consider returning to in-person instruction, where they can benefit from interaction and collaboration with peers and teachers. Of course, the decision of whether to learn at home or in person on campus will be a family choice. Should you wish to change your student’s learning option for the next marking period, we ask that you indicate your new preference before Feb. 12 by filling out this form: www.springisd.org/change.
Please note that all in-person high school students will be on campus four days a week starting Feb. 22. Students in grades 9-12 will attend in-person classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, high school students will learn synchronously from home.
Need Better Wifi? Eligible Families Can Get a Free Hotspot
Spring ISD is excited to share that the district is providing free internet hotspots for eligible students. Spring ISD is also partnering with Comcast Internet Essentials to provide free internet services for eligible families.
If you haven’t signed up, it’s not too late! You can register by calling 281-891-6850. After you register, just come pick up your device at the Spring ISD Community Engagement Center, located at 17125 Ella Blvd. If transportation is an issue, just let us know and we can help.
