What Did We Learn This Week?

Language Arts

Our new spelling rule was bossy r and hearing the difference between ar and or. In grammar, we worked on identifying action verbs. We have officially learned cursive c and a! We wrote our staff biographies and edited them! Next week, we will head to the computer room to type them and fancy them up. We are excited about that! For comprehension, we learned how to take a test covering all of the comprehension skills we had learned this year. This test is called CARS. Look for it in our Friday Folders. During literacy centers, we finished our amazing biography dolls and enjoyed doing different activities to learn about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

In math this week we moved onto our next topic: graphing! We first learned about how to make line plots, then we reviewed pictographs and bar graphs. We ended the week starting our own graphing project where we got to pick our own topic and conduct a survey with our classmates to collect all the data. Next week, we will then transfer the data onto two different kinds of graphs!

Dear 2nd grade parents,

In Hebrew class, this past week, we took a deep breath and reviewed all the letters we have learned so far:

א, ו, י, נ, ן, ג, ה, ר, ב, ס, ש, ח, ק, ד, כ, ך, ז, מ, ם

We practiced all the Hebrew cursive letters we know, using smart board activities and work sheets. We even had a spelling test.

Here is a great activity to review Hebrew with at home:

Shabbat shalom,

Galia Sabbag

We wrapped up our Geology Unit this week and took our test. I think we all agree that GEOLOGY ROCKS!! Next up, we will dive into Simple Machines.
