Enadia Way Technology Charter, Week of 9-19-22
Enadia's school orchestra officially began music classes last Thursday! This year Mr. Hirako has 69 orchestra students in grades 3rd-5th! Mr. Hirako comes to Enadia every Thursday to teach instrumentation in violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and saxophone. If that isn't enough, Mr. Hirako has managed to squeeze in weekly music lessons for all of our 1st graders!
Please make sure your child brings the instrument and takes it home every Thursday.
Enadia Joins UCLA's Math Project
This year Enadia has joined the ranks of other LAUSD schools by joining the UCLA Mathematics Project. LAUSD partners with UCLA to train teachers, students, and school leaders on the CGI (Cognitively Guided Instruction) pedagogy which emphasizes problem solving and student thinking around mathematical ideas. Our school is partnering with a math coach from UCLA who not only provides professional development for the teachers and principal, but also teaches alongside the teachers to assist with implementing the CGI strategies and practices. Our goal is to help students exceed math standards and to be able to apply math in the real world.
On Demand Homework Help
LAUSD offers free tutoring and homework help 24/7 through a vendor called "Paper" in an app in Schoology. All students TK-5 can receive extra help with assignments in a variety of subjects by real teachers! Please see all of the flyers and information on how to access this free help through Schoology via paper.co/lausd.
PIcture Day is Tuesday, September 27th! This is your child's official school portrait. All students must be in their neatest school uniform polo shirt (navy blue or light blue). In the spring we will have another picture day in which children can wear any clothing that you choose.
