Marjorie (Daniels) Weiss
July 3, 1951 - October 29, 2023
We mourn the loss of our first school system president, Margie (Daniels) Weiss. She was one of the driving forces that first brought our schools together into one system. Margie was fondly remembered for bringing in chocolate chip cookies every Monday for the staff. She also started the process of having flu shots included as a benefit and since she was a nurse initially, actually gave the flu shots to staff herself!
Even after leaving the role of president, she continued to support the schools in a variety of ways, from cheering at sporting events, attending Fine Arts programs, donating and sponsoring many fundraisers, and supporting her children and grandchildren as they grew and went through the SMCS system. We offer our condolences to all her family and friends, many of whom are still very involved in the school system either as students, staff or supporters.
"Margie Weiss was a dedicated and intelligent leader with a heart for Catholic education. She listened and worked diligently to provide the best for our students. She could be seen at all school events with a camera over her shoulder, recording memories for our schools. Her vision led to the establishment of our school system. She had respect for all individuals and a love for our schools. I was proud to have worked with her during her entire tenure and even prouder to call her my friend." - Eleanor Healy, Former Principal at St. Margaret Mary School
Funeral information can be found in the obituary here. Please keep the Weiss family in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
