Husky Happenings
December 3 - 8
8th grade art students ventured to KCMO to visit Two Tone Press and Oddities T-shirt printing. Students learned about the magic of screen printing and the usage of printing presses from the 1800’s! Fun was had by all!
*REMINDER* STUDENTS SHOULD NOT TOUCH, PICK UP, THROW OR CLIMB ON SNOW AND ICE ON SCHOOL GROUNDS. WE WANT ALL OF OUR STUDENTS TO BE SAFE.
From Mr. Martin
We are now well into MAP assessment. Questions to ask your student: 1) What was your MAP score compared to the last assessment in August? 2) Did you have a goal and/or did you meet your goal?
Goal setting is a life skill. It is reasonable for students to ‘self assess’ and use tools like MAP to set standards for success.
Ways to be involved at TRMS: Spelling Bee and TRMS play. Don’t miss the deadlines.
MINDSET MOMENT: Mistakes have the power to turn you into something better than you were before. (Please be reminded that our StuCo picked all of this year’s mindset moments. I am proud that our students had input in this process).
Morning drinks and food:
Parents, we have been experiencing an increase of students bringing in food and drink to school. Please remind them that they need to consume those items in the commons (lunchroom). Students bringing these items into school and entering the gym and auditorium will be sent to the commons to finsish them.

From Nurse Rhea:
Cough and cold medications are not kept in the health room, and cannot be given without a doctor’s order. If your student needs cough or cold medicines to make it thru their day comfortably, please remember to give it at home before leaving for school. Please do not send the medicine with them for later in the day.
Remember….Hand washing is our number one defense against illness causing germs and viruses! If you can’t get to soap and water, use hand sanitizer! Another way to prevent the spread of germs is to cough/sneeze into your elbow and try not to touch your face! These are good reminders for all of us!
Counseling:
We do have coats, gloves and hats. Please contact Mrs. Loring or Mr. Susnik if your students has a need in this area. This is another example of what a great community we live. When looking at highly effective schools, our community is always part of our success.
