ALL FOOD SERVED MEETS THE USDA GUIDELINES AND THE GUIDELINES OF HEALTHY PEOPLE 2020

These new guidelines are proven to be healthier for all students. They fit the guidelines in Healthy People 2020 due to how well we picked out each item and bake it instead of frying the item. The school food items that are chosen will have the students eating the food to feel energized and ready to power through the day having had a healthy breakfast and lunch.
School Breakfast
All school breakfasts must come with a side of fruit and a carton of milk.
School Lunch
All school Lunches must come with a serving of fruit and a serving of vegetables.
Lunches must have an item that belongs in each food group.
Beverages and Snacks
Beverages must be either non-fat milk, water, or juice under 150 calories.
Snacks can be bought with any meal and must be under 200 calories.
All chips must be baked.
Every student has a limit of two snacks and one drink.
Limits
Limits in Calories, Sugar, and Sodium
Calories:
Snack- Less or equal to 200 calories
Entree-Less or equal to 350 calories
Sugar:
ALL- Less or equal to 35% of weight from total sugars in all foods
Sodium:
Snack-Less or equal to 230 mg
Entree-Less or equal to 480 mg
