Lewis Ledger - Week 4

August 19, 2018

Sunny Heights is where everyone is valued and respected. Our vision is to inspire a passion for learning in a student-centered, family friendly environment.

Week 4

15 days into the new school year and am very proud of the work being done daily by everyone. As we continue to get to know our students, families, and colleagues we are able to identify areas of need and support. Please continue to be positive in your interactions and intentional about building relationships!

SHOUT OUTS

Shout Out to Cassie Brainard for putting together an awesome "show your work" Edulastic sheet!

Shout Out to everyone that participated in the picture contest! We have some real photographers on staff!!

Shout Out to everyone that dedicated time this week to fill coverage gaps in the cafeteria and classrooms once again!

Shout Out to Greg Butler for taking on traffic controlling in the morning as the car rider line begins to form. Things really have improved in the morning.

Data Blast

Our current attendance rate is 95%. The goal is for students to be at school 97% of days or better. We are beginning to dig into some attendance data deeper as increasing student attendance will be one our school improvement goals. How as the classroom teacher can you help increase student attendance?

Social Studies & Reading Support (seriously!) - If you would like me to come in to teach a social studies lesson for your class, please let me know a time, day, and topic that would work. Also, let me know if you would like me to come read a story to your class.

Social Emotional Learning Tip of the Week

I will continue to share with you resources and information regarding Trauma Informed Care in the classroom. Here is an article focusing on the effect of empathy in the classroom.
