Message from Geordie

SO… WOW!

What an amazing atmosphere here at St Bernie’s for our last day of school for students.

I have had such a lovely morning walking around and chatting to our students and parents about the amazing year that we have had. Our whole staff would like to thank everyone for their kind words, support, and generosity over the year. I hope that everyone enjoyed the Christmas Concert this week and that all the students have enjoyed their final week of school. As I do each term, there is a short feedback form I would love you to fill out if you have time.

On a personal note, thanks for your support in my first year here. Fred and I have felt so welcomed into this community and we have achieved a lot this year. While we have not always agreed on every decision made, our community is strong because we communicate and work together, discuss issues of importance, and put our students at the centre of all we do.

In this time of Advent, we are reminded of Christ’s birth and that God knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally. What an extraordinary gift our faith is, for with God in our lives, we really have nothing at all to fear or to worry about.

When school finishes for the year, please make sure that you look into the eyes of your children, parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends, and all those who have helped you get to this point in your life. Thank them, remind them how much you love them, for life is made so much more enjoyable when we can lean on and learn from those who really care about us.

To families that are leaving – goodbye, good luck and we wish you all the best in the future. To everyone else, please have a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to seeing you back here next year for another awesome year!

Car Wash Fund Raiser - Car Wash for Cambodia

On Monday 20th December, bring your car down to the Church/parish hall carpark at 10:00am.

The carwash is a gold coin donation and there will be a sausage sizzle on the day too. Any lovely people who can volunteer on the day will be welcomed with open arms and a sponge!

All funds will go directly to villages in Cambodia who are in such poverty that they don't know where their next meal is coming from!

Let us help give them the happy Christmas they deserve!
