Principal's Message
Hello from afar everyone. On behalf of all the staff at Our House, we miss being with our students! Currently, the office staff are in the building daily and answering any questions you may have about your child’s learning. Whether you need support from Teachers, Educational Assistants or Family School Liaison Workers or in the form of other specialized services, please reach out and we will do everything we can to help you out.
Over the past several days, we have received phone calls about refunding school fees. We want to reassure you that BRSD is working on the situation and will be in contact with you soon. In the coming two weeks, we will be reaching out to Grade 7 and 8 students to get their feedback about the options we offered this year and any changes we should consider for next year. We will be working with students via Google Forms near the beginning of May to have them choose their classes for next year. Additionally, we will soon be reaching out to our future Grade 6 students and begin the registration process!
For those students who are interested in Hockey Academy, we want to reassure you that we are planning on offering this important program next year. Tim Green is on board and we are working out the details on how it will look for the 2020/2021 school year.
If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to please contact the school and we will gladly work with you.
Take care and stay well.
-Mr. Stephen Hoyland
Print versus Online Materials
Classes in Our House are being run through Google Classroom. Students have the ability to work within the online classroom where they can receive materials and submit work. Furthermore, students can ask questions to their teachers in scheduled Google Meets or by email during the school day. If you are having any issues getting into Google Classroom, do not hesitate to contact the teacher.
Print materials can also be sent to families by email to be printed at home for those who have access to a printer. The student is then able to take a picture of their work and send it to the teacher in Google Classroom.
