On January 26th, the 8th grade class will need to bring a charged Chromebook & their chargers to homeroom and 1st period! We will be conducting a Chromebook check to make sure they are in working order.

Chromebooks should be free from writing or stickers on them. Please make sure you have updated your Chromebook as well and check that your name sticker is still on the back of the Chromebook as well as your charger.

Failure to bring your Chromebook on Thursday may result in a reteach during recess on another day.

A COOL THING HAPPENED IN CLASS...

During the morning UA classes this Thursday, we celebrated NMS student achievements in the 2nd nine weeks. Each teacher chose students to honor, and the teams gave out grade level awards. We are so proud of the many students who have been working hard during the first semester! Over 400 students received honor roll or a "B" average (for the first semester) which is 60% of our student population!

Our gym students are in the middle of their Pickleball unit! Coach Butts and Ms. Mangold have been showing students videos to explain the game and have created a Pickleball tournament!

Mr. Hojka's strings class is working on a Scottish bagpipe tune called "Atholl Highlanders." It sounded beautiful lofting through the hallways!

6th Grade Social Studies classes have been taking part in the "Too Good for Drugs Program" with our social worker Mr. Hairston.

Social Studies students from each grade participated in the Social Studies Fair this week! Projects in Geography, Economics, Psychology, US & World History were included. Thank you to all of the community members who served as judges and to Ms. Updike for organizing the event.

Ms. Amavisca's art students completed the continuous line drawing challenge. Students were allowed to draw whatever they wanted, but were instructed to not lift up their marker. So many interesting creations resulted!
