Upcoming Spirit Night
Get Ready to Sprout!
We are very excited to kick off Sprout TODAY!
Your child should have received a packet of information about the Sprout Fundraiser before Spring Break. Be sure to join our Liberty PTA Facebook Page and like Operation Sprout as we kick off this FUNdraiser! Don't forget to answer the questions required for approval to the PTA page!
What is Operation Sprout? Operation Sprout is a fundraiser that gives all of our students a chance to participate and try out lots of different, fun health and wellness activities!
When does it take place? On April 20th, students will rotate between 8-10 stations, including: tennis, archery, taekwondo, dance, gymnastics, and more!
What do you need from me? Spread the word! Share with your family and friends! Ask for individual, business, and corporate sponsorships for this amazing event for our students!
How do I donate? You can donate by sending in good ol' cash or checks (made payable to Liberty Elementary PTA) or PayPal! *Be sure to put your student's name in the "Add a Note" section in PayPal for your student to receive credit!!*
We have set a goal of $20,000 and plan to use the money we receive to purchase more technology for our school, including Chromebooks and an Interactive touch screen.
Thank You!
Thank you to our amazing Liberty Family for a successful Book Fair! We raised $17,793.11! This would not have been possible without all of the awesome volunteers and everyone that participated!

SBDM Council Parent Representative Nominations
We hope you’ll consider running for our school council, or encourage a friend to do so. An informational letter and nomination form were sent home before Spring Break to all students in K-4th grade (forms are also attached).
In Kentucky, each school has a council composed of the principal, elected teachers, and elected parents who make important decisions that impact student achievement in our school (for example curriculum, assessment, teacher selection, budget and staffing). The council is a wonderful chance to learn about our school, work closely with teachers, and help make our school even more successful than it is now. The parent members of the council are elected by parents. They receive training and will serve from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Please see the attachments for the nomination form and other information.
Nominations are due to the SCHOOL OFFICE or emailed to jesshenz@twc.com no later than 3:30 PM on April 26, 2018. If you know someone who would be a good candidate, please encourage that person to run.
The election will be held on May 24, 2018. Parents can vote in the SCHOOL LOBBY during these times:
Drop off: 7:15-8:15 am
Lunch: 10:30 am -12:30 pm
Dismissal/BTB: 2:30-6:00 pm
Anyone that will have a child enrolled at Liberty Elementary School NEXT YEAR is eligible to vote in this election. This includes parents, step-parents, and foster parents. Legal guardians are also eligible to vote if the child lives in their home. We urge every parent to participate in this important decision about the future of our children’s school.
Be sure to have your state issued photo ID ready when you come to vote!
Liberty PTA Board Elections
We currently have no nominations for VP of Fundraising. If you know someone that would be great for the job encourage them to contact Marci Kloiber.
The descriptions of the seven board positions can be found here. Serving on the PTA Board is another great way to get involved with the school and help make decisions for our students!
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
For more information, please visit Green Tree Plastics.
Make-Up Snow Days
Please, adjust your calendars at home to reflect the following changes. There will be make-up school days on:
- Tuesday, May 29
- Wednesday, May 30
- Thursday, May 31
If we do not miss any more days due to winter weather, May 31, 2018 would be the last day of school. High school graduations would be scheduled on May 31 and June 1. Please note, high school graduation dates will not be set until mid-spring after the threat of bad weather has passed and all make-up days have been announced.
Teacher Appreciation Week!
We are looking for people to help be "day coordinators". This would involve handling the logistics for one day during teacher appreciation week by being the point person from 10 am - 1 pm. We will need 5 day coordinators (one for each day).
If you are interested in helping out, please contact Kaye Hughes.
Join the PTA!
Help support our school and children by joining our PTA! Our annual membership fee is only $6.00!
