The name of my tribe is Apache and the mean of the name apache is word "apache" comes from the Yuma word for "fighting-men" and from the Zuni wordmeaning "enemy." The Apache tribe consists of six subtribes: the Western Apache, Chiricahua, Mescalero, Jicarilla, Lipan and Kiowa.

Geography

  1. The current division of Apachean groups includes the Navajo, Western Apache, Chiricahua, Mescalero, Jicarilla, Lipan, and Plains Apache (formerly Kiowa-Apache). Apache groups live in Oklahoma and Texas and on reservations in Arizona and New Mexico. The Fort Apache and Theodore Roosevelt School National Historic Landmark
