What We Are Learning This Week

Language Arts: This week we will be reading a National Geographic for Kids book called Sharks by Anne Schreiber. We will be learning about non- fiction text features including the table of contents, captions, labels, diagrams, maps and timelines. This week in spelling, we will look at words with the - ure and -ion endings. Our spelling test will be on Friday, May 6th. Also, we will visit the book fair on Monday, May 2nd and purchase on Tuesday, May 3rd.

Social Studies:

We will continue our unit on financial literacy.

Math: This week, we will wrap up our measurement unit. Students will add and subtract lengths, master measuring with metric units, and measure the area of a rectangle using square units. By the end of the week, students will be assessed on the measurement unit.

Science: We will continue our study of force and motion. Students will begin exploring the motion of rolling and sliding objects.

We are in need of a volunteer for the remainder of the year, there is currently NO ONE signed up so you get first pick! =) As a reminder, our lunch is from 11:45-12:15 and your child's teacher appreciates you coming to help!
