DINO TRACKS
NOVEMBER 8, 2017
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!
PLEASE WEAR RED,WHITE, and BLUE!
Broadcast Club:
Broadcast Club starts next week November 14 and is open to 2nd - 5th graders, it will take place on Tuesdays from 2:55 - 3:45. This is a drop-in club your child only needs to come when they have a specific project they want to work on to produce a segment for our Dino News. This permission slip will need to be completed each week your child attends.
**Any student on the Broadcast Crew is welcome to attend every week (but, they must fill out the weekly permission slip for attendance purposes as well) because they will be helping run the studio equipment and helping students practice their segments. It is not required for them to come, but it would be a great experience for them to help other students.
Please complete this form for your child to participate in this year's Broadcast Club. Go to for more information. *Please have your email confirmation before you let your child stay after school on Tuesday. Thank you for your support!

Many thanks!
MONDAY NIGHT With Our Dinos!
Students from Deep Wood's Tyrannochorus Rex choir participated Monday in the Round Rock High School Vertical Learning Community Concert at the district's Performing Arts Center. Students from 11 different schools sang a finale with 300+ students ranging from ages 8 to 18. It was truly a beautiful community event. GO DINOS GO!!
Thank you!!!
Thank you to BookPeople for sending Barney Saltzberg to present to our Dinos. We learned that mistakes happen, but we can use our imaginations to fix them and turn an 'Oops' into a 'Victory'! Stories unfold right in front of us if we let them.
Mr. Saltzberg presented
*Additional autographed copies of both books are still available through Tuesday, Nov. 14. Each book is $17.50. Stop by the library to get a copy or send an order form and payment with your child.

READASAURUS BOOK CLUB
November / December: Graphic Novels Thursday, Dec. 7th 2:55-3:45
You may think graphic novels are easy to read because they are just a bunch of pictures, but reading a graphic novel actually takes tons of thinking and making of inferences. Let's discuss the ways the authors of graphic novels use pictures and other techniques to help us understand their story, and then let's try our hand at writing and illustrating our own comics!
Readasaurus is a monthly book club to promote an excitement for reading with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders! During monthly book club meetings after school, we will discuss our reading as a community and continue our learning through a hands-on activity.
