Teaching Children to Care
Restorative, healing actions are an essential part of restorative justice. Rather than focusing on punishment, restorative justice focuses on how the person in question can heal any harm and be restored to their community. Healing actions may take place immediately or after a brief separation or time-out to reflect.
Healing actions include:
Breaking something - replacing or repairing the item
Making a mess - cleaning up the mess
Accidentally hurting someone - helping the hurt friend by providing care and support, such as procuring a bandaid or ice pack
Below is a sequence of restorative questions we use in the classroom and on the playground at school. Using these questions at home will help your children build the skills to navigate conflict and care for their community.
Excellence in Education Award

Strategic Plan Survey
Strategic Plan Survey
In order to accomplish the vision and mission of our district, we need a strategic plan that guides the district and the decisions of the staff and the Board of Education. The previous plan, adopted in 2014, served the district for five years. However, the changing landscape of state and federal regulations, school funding, and the needs of students and families, necessitates an update to the strategic plan.
Survey open through September 30.
