Keeping you alive
How your body gets its nutrients and gets rid of toxins...
Lets get down to the central purpose of the digestive system!
The main purpose of the digestive system is to give you nutrients so YOU DON'T DIE! In the process of eating, however, you also put toxins (or just toxic levels of normally good things) in your body too. You will investigate two things today:
(1) how the small intestine's villi pass nutrients to the blood stream
(2) the important purpose of the liver and gall bladder
Answer all questions in your science notebook!
Start by rereading the sections of your book on the small intestine, liver, and pancreas.
