Owatonna Online - a New and Improved Virtual School Experience for Fall 2021
Do you think your student might benefit from the flexibility and convenience of an online school experience for next fall rather than the traditional in-person classroom model? If so, consider registering for Owatonna Online, Owatonna Public School's free, accredited and comprehensive K-12 online school.
Owatonna Online is different than what secondary students experienced during distance learning this year and offers a new and improved approach to online learning.
What your student would experience:
A comprehensive set of online courses with support from Owatonna teachers
Self-paced and flexible scheduling - progressive independence as your child goes through the secondary grades
Opportunity to use some district facilities such as labs when needed
Access to all Owatonna Public Schools student clubs, sports and activities
Other benefits of Owatonna Online for you and your student:
Free computer/device for your child
Full curriculum covering all graduation requirements
Academic, counseling and other student supports
Extra support for parents to help you be an effective learning coach
Opportunities to connect with other families and get together for events
Attend one of our upcoming webinars to learn more and ask questions of our Owatonna Online team: select your date here. Or if you’re ready to enroll, complete our grades 6-12 enrollment form. Hope to see you virtually soon!

A Note From the Principal
We recently started an initiative called Let's Talk OMS, a chance for students to have their voices heard with teachers and administration. The first topic centered on the school experience and what students would like it to be. The last session focused on school rules and policies. The students who attended were amazing and articulate. If you think your child may be interested in partcipating in these one-hour sessions on a Wednesday, tell them to keep an eye out for the Let's Talk posters and emails! It's a great way for us to incorporate student voices into our decision making!
BRING YOUR MASKS, CHARGER, AND CHROMEBOOKS EVERY DAY
Every student must bring their mask, Chromebook, and charger to school every day. Make sure your Chromebook is fully charged.
Teachers will be using these on a daily basis; it is crucial your child brings his/her computer to school every day!
