Note From the Principal
Dear Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope everyone had a relaxing Spring Break and were able to spend some time with their loved ones. We are in the homestretch for the school year and it will be June before we know it! Our current schedule will remain the same until April 26th. Upcoming changes in start times and car rider procedures are shared below to aid in your planning.
Daily Schedule Beginning April 26th
School day begins at 7:45am
Arrival to WRE
7:30am Buses Arrive at WRE
7:30-7:45am Car Rider Drop-off
Departure from WRE
1:50pm Car Rider Pick-Up
2:00pm Buses Depart WRE
Arrival
Car Riders
The car rider lane begins when a staff member is present at approximately 7:30am.
Car Riders will exit at Door 1 and 2. Staff will be on hand at each door.
Students should not arrive before 7:30am. There is no adult supervision before that time.
Staff members will give a signal for cars to move forward to allow the next set of cars to pull forward and unload ten cars at a time.
The car rider lane ends and doors close at 7:45am. If arriving after
7:45am plan to ensure your child enters the building. Remember he/she must press the doorbell for entry.
Dismissal
Car Riders
ALL cars must form a line in the parking lot to pick up students. Dismissal begins promptly at 1:50pm at the main entrance.
The WRE transportation sign must be displayed. If you do not have a sign or forgot your sign, please be prepared to park and come to the front door after dismissal to show your photo ID to pick up your child.
ILearn Testing begins next week for 3rd-5th graders. ILEARN is Indiana’s online computer-adaptive assessment designed to measure your child’s proficiency of the Indiana Academic Standards for Grades 3-5 in elementary school. ILEARN fulfills both state and federal accountability requirements and is Indiana’s summative accountability assessment. More information can be found here.
Have an amazing weekend and we look forward to seeing our Eagles on Monday morning!
Soaring with you,
Ms. VanDermark
