Congrats to our Solo & Ensemble Contestants
On Saturday February 25th over 50 Big Hollow Band and Choir students, grades 5 through 8, participated in the NimCon Solo & Ensemble Contest hosted at Lake Zurich Middle School North. The students prepared for 46 events, including instrumental and vocal solos, duets, trios, quartets, and more. Overall, Big Hollow students earned the following ratings:
1 – I+ Division (perfect score! No errors)
23 – I Division Represents the best conceivable performance for the event being judged; worthy of being recognized as first place winners.
21 – II Division Represents a performance which is good to excellent, but has minor defects in some aspects of the performance which mar the overall effect.
1 – III Division A performance not worthy of a Division II rating. A rather poor performance showing much need for improvement.
Julie and I are very proud of these students for taking on an extra, optional performance. Many students who participated were involved in more than one event. The students did receive instruction and guidance from us, but most of the hard work was up to them! They all performed well, and were a great representation of Big Hollow, both in performance and behavior.
Parenting our social media students
Parents,
I wanted to take a minute to share some information we received from a fellow parent about Roblox.
