TECH TIP OF THE WEEK
Check out Zero Noise Classroom Chrome App...
The idea behind Zero Noise Classroom is to give your students a specific amount of time during which you want the noise in the classroom to be below a certain level. This could be for silent reading time in your classroom or just a silent minute for everyone to think before responding to a question. You could also use it to just time an activity and not worry about the noise level at all.
Words of Wisdom
The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
~ Mahatma Gandhi
With something to think about . . .We're all so busy — it sometimes seems that in order to lose yourself in the service of others is to be a step closer to losing your sanity! Here's the thing though, service can be incorporated into your daily life rather simply. What if it's just saying a few kind words to a student that needs to hear exactly those words? Delivering your colleague's mail from the teacher's lounge? Small, compassionate acts can be largely remembered, particularly by young, impressionable minds. Lose a little of yourself, and in doing so, find your best self.
Remember to take care of yourself.
Ask yourself what you have done for someone else each day. You may just find it's exactly what you need to keep yourself in good spirits.
Happy Birthday!
