Parents Transporting Students to School
Illness Procudures
Health room guidelines for keeping a child home sick and when they are okay to return to school:
- Students with a fever of 100.4 degrees or greater should not attend school. They should be fever free for at least 24 hours without the aid of medications.
- Students with vomiting and/or diarrhea should not attend school. They should be symptom free for a minimum of 24 hours before they return.
- Students who are diagnosed by their physician and started on antibiotics for a bacterial infection (strep throat, pink eye, etc.) should remain home until 24 hours after the antibiotics have been started.
- Students who have a bad cough and/or persistent runny nose, unrelated to allergies, should also stay home.
Students attending school with these symptoms or who are at school while these symptoms develop, will not be allowed to return to class and parents/guardians will be contacted and asked to pick your child up. Students who are absent more than 3 days or upon administrator's request may be asked to provide a doctor's excuse.

What Parents Should Know: Pink, A Synthetic Opioid, Is Stronger than Heroin, But Legal In Most States
Opioid overdoses are on the rise. The CDC has reported that overdose deaths have almost quadrupled from 1999 to 2014. Deaths from synthetic opioids rose almost twice as fast during that same period.
A newer synthetic on the market is called Pink or U-47700 and is eight times stronger than heroin. Pink is in the same family as ifentanyl, carfentanil and furanyl fentanyl and has been responsible for overdose deaths all over the country.
Fluid Power Challenge
Fluid Power Challenge 2017 will be a new opportunity for the Stone Bank 8th graders. On February 24, a team of 4 students will attend a workshop at WCTC and learn the basics of Fluid Power. They then go back to school and work on their structure during extended study and maybe after school to prepare for the March 31st competition. 8th graders will be able to sign up for this next week. If you think you or you know of a parent who may be interested, please contact Brigid Harmeyer at b.harmeyer@stonebank.k12.wi.us.
