Catherine of Siena

She lived from 1347-1380. She was 33 years old when she passed away.
Important Facts:
- From age 20-30 years old, she wrote many letters that showed her interest expanded from the religious to the political affairs of the time.
- She prayed to Christ a lot of her life.
- In 1376. Catherine was persuaded to act as a mediator and to bring peace to Florence.
Interesting Facts:
- She was the twenty-third child of the Benincasa family.
- She vowed her virginity at age 7 to Christ when she saw her first vision of him.
- 81 years after she passed away, she was canonized. Which means that she officially declared a saint.
- She prayed to Christ a lot of her life.
