Second Grade Swag!
October 26th - October 30th
What We Are Learning This Week
Language Arts: Our story of the week will be I Need My Monster by Amanda Noll. We will be looking at making connections, writing a monster story, common and proper nouns, using rich vocabulary, and sequencing. Our spelling this week will be r-controlled -er, -ir, and -ur. We will have our spelling test on Friday, October 30th. Please be sure to practice with your child and let me know if you would like me to send home some extra spelling practice!
Social Studies: This week, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week! We will have a lot of fun coordinating dress up days, have a poster contest about drug prevention, go on a neighborhood Red Ribbon Awareness walk, have a visit from a police officer and a performance by the United Freestyle Stunt Team.
Math: This week in math, we are to focus on reviewing all the things we've learned in the last 9 weeks. Some key highlights include continuing to build up our fact fluency, reading and interpreting bar graphs and pictographs.
Science: In science we will be reviewing as well. Some key terms include animal adaptations, life cycles, and metamorphosis.
