April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Thriving families depend on strong support systems. Support can come from family, friends, neighbors, and others in the community. Learn what it takes to invest in families. Together we can strengthen families and prevent child abuse. We can make it easier for families to access support services and learn how to identify and build on family strengths. By providing all families with equal opportunity and access to the supports they need, we can help improve the safety and well-being of children and youth across the country. Visit the National Child Abuse Prevention Month website for more information.

Elementary, Middle, and High School Georgia Milestones Information

Georgia Milestones testing begins Monday, April 25 (May 4 for elementary schools). The test measures knowledge and skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies and provides critical information about achievement and readiness for next level of learning. With the absence of significant testing data from the last two years, this year’s scores will be used to establish a new baseline for schools and the district. Participation is crucial. The district expects all students in grades 3-8 and those in a high school end-of-year (EOC) course to participate. Thank you for partnering with the district to ensure a high rate of student participation.
