The voting window is open to vote for a parent candidate to serve on our School Governance Council. This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week. I want to thank all of our parent and community volunteers for all that you do to support our wonderful school. We know that we cannot do this work alone and our volunteers are an integral part of our school community.

Fulton County Schools encourages parents to take the Annual Parent Perception Survey between April 11 and April 22. Your answers to this survey will help the district make improvements to our schools. The survey is anonymous and confidential and should take about 25 minutes to complete. Please complete one survey per school where you have one or more students enrolled. Additionally, students in grades 4-12 will take the Annual Student Perception Survey between April 11 and 22 during the school day. This survey is also anonymous and confidential.

Findley Oaks kindergartener, Anaaya Sudheer, was selected as an honorary mention in this year's Fulton County Department of Public Works inaugural Recycled Art Contest. Her artwork entitled, "Garden" will be displayed at the Fulton County Government Center as part of their Earth Month celebrations.

Thriving families depend on strong support systems. Support can come from family, friends, neighbors, and others in the community. Learn what it takes to invest in families. Together we can strengthen families and prevent child abuse. We can make it easier for families to access support services and learn how to identify and build on family strengths. By providing all families with equal opportunity and access to the supports they need, we can help improve the safety and well-being of children and youth across the country. Georgia Milestones testing begins Monday, April 25 (May 4 for elementary schools). The test measures knowledge and skills in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies and provides critical information about achievement and readiness for next level of learning. With the absence of significant testing data from the last two years, this year’s scores will be used to establish a new baseline for schools and the district. Participation is crucial. The district expects all students in grades 3-8 and those in a high school end-of-year (EOC) course to participate. Thank you for partnering with the district to ensure a high rate of student participation.

The schedule for Milestones Testing has been set. Testing will begin as soon as school begins each day. It is important that your child arrives to school on time on these days.

May 11 Math Section 1

May 12 Math Section 2

Teachers are working hard to prepare students and may provide at home practice opportunities as well. These assignments are appropriate for all students as they are grade level standards- based and not specifically Milestones related. Below are some resources for your information about the test.
