Rountree Report
October 12, 2018
The cold has finally arrived!
I hope you enjoy a warm and cozy weekend! I am planning a pajama day for sure!
Below are some important bits of information and some reminders.
- Check out this article that Dr. Methvin shared with us at our leadership meeting.Classroom strategies for traumatized oppositional children
- Christmas Party is set for Nov. 29th immediately after work. The movie will start around 4:30 with dinner/snacks after at Civil. Please make plans to join us!
- Remember to set I-ready goals with your students. Students and parents should know where they are and what the goal is.
- Please don't forget to add to our Canvas discussion around i-ready student growth. Keep in mind this will align with your student growth data piece in Tower as well as our i-ready growth goal we set in our student action plan. This Canvas discussion is a good artifact to add to your Tower evidence. The deadline to add your information so we can set a collective goal is the end of the day Monday. Remember, only 1 person from your grade level needs to add the info to the discussion.
- Keep in mind the idea to conduct conferences with the ABC's/priority metrics in mind.

Fight
Flight
or Freeze
The only element of trauma that you can control is YOU (and your reactions).
I-ready
The stretch goal is a good goal to set with students. It is tough but attainable. New information about standard view (the one I shared at staff meeting was not as good). This view shows you where students would land if they took the MAP test that day. We were encouraged to go ahead and use that view as that will help you know how far students need to come prior to state assessment.
Attendance Tips
· Monitor early, monitor often & take action.
· Review first quarter student attendance.
· Make student attendance a point of discussion during Parent-Teacher conferences.
· Recognize not only good student attendance, but improved attendance as well.
