Limit Sharing to Protect Yourself
Your digital footprint is a collection of your data that can be traced back to you and is permanent. Make sure your digital footprint presents you in a positive way.
Customize your privacy settings in apps and social media.
Turn off location tracking for all of your apps to maintain privacy.
Don't click on items that feel or look suspicious.
Don't Get Hooked by Phishing!
Phishing - when you are tricked into sharing your personal information or you click a link that loads malware on your computer.
Before you click, use the tips shared in the following video. Not sure if a message is real? Ask an adult to help.
Think Before Opening Suspicious Emails or Links
Follow this advice to avoid identity theft and malware
Does it seem too good to be true?
Does it appear urgent?
Hover over the links - do they match what you expect to see?
Is the site secure?
Are there any obvious grammar or spelling mistakes?
