The Exciting Month of September 2019

As September rolls into our lives it brings with it many beginnings and ends. A new school year has begun for most and summer is starting to wind down. For those starting school it represents opportunity for new experiences, new knowledge and new skills and a chance to meet new friends. Autumn begins September 23 as September starts to bring chilly nights, foggy mornings, colorful leaves and yes, a bit of sweater weather. Baseball season will head into its final stretch and football season will kick off. It is Harvest in many parts of the country. It is during this time of the year that the last of the summer crops are being gathered from the fields and stored for the winter. September’s full moon represents harvest time and is noted as the Harvest Moon. Weather Lore tells us that three days of September (21, 23 and 24) will tell us the type of weather for October, November and December. Thank You September for the reminder that change can be beautiful.
September is the ninth month of the year in the modern day Gregorian Calendar and its predecessor, the Julian Calendar. The month kept its original name from the Roman Calendar in which septem means “seven” in Latin marking it as the seventh month. September was named during a time when the calendar year began with March, which is why its name no longer corresponds with its placement in the Julian and Gregorian calendars.
Virgo are one of the more particular signs in the zodiac. They are observant, independent, and a bit of a perfectionist, just like the bear. The bear, as your spirit animal, explains much about the deepest parts of your personality. You are methodical in many ways, hardworking, and incredibly intelligent. Bears may not be known as cuddly creatures, but they have a huge heart and oftentimes can be so generous that they will give everything they have for those they love.
They are also very modest, shy, and can live very minimally if need be. The bear is also known for being impatient and having quite the temper if pushed hard enough, which they need. And when they are, hell hath no fury! At their best, bears are very generous and loving.
Libra, the sign of the scales, is all about equality and balance in life and love. Which is very much like the raven, who is known for being a peace-loving creature. The raven is incredibly intelligent and charming, known for their incredible balance of beauty inside and outside.
The raven is the perfect mediator of any group as they are diplomatic, making them great listeners and advice-givers. The raven has boundless energy and is incredibly easygoing in all their relationships. Inside, they are romantic, patient, and caring. All in all, the raven is very nurturing and loves to give their time and hearts to those around them. They make excellent caregivers, teachers, and doctors.
Down Time
The advantages of family are that you have people to love and who love you. No matter what. The advantages of family are having people catch you when you fall and guide you when you are lost and restore hope when it is waning. Having someone who knows you through and through and loves you. A person who believes in you sometimes more than you believe in yourself. That type of family relationship is invaluable. Sometimes it is easy to take our family for granted but they are a gift. If you have ever lost a family member it is then that you are reminded just how precious family is and how fleeting time is and just how much we should treasure our family every day. When we spend time as a family whether it be cooking, cleaning, shopping or building something, we are not only making it valued time we are also teaching our children family values. These values are important skills that not only help us as adults but also help our children function better in life.
The month of August brings a close to our summer. The routine of work and school started back for both Patrick and Jaiden. Our son continued with his school tutoring and was able to familiarize himself with his new school by paying a few visits. Patrick started back at the school preparing and getting things ready for opening day. We met with teachers preparing our son for his journey into middle school. I believe it is harder for the parents of a child entering into middle school than it is the child. It has been a hot and sticky month in our part of the country and the pool was utilized as a form of play and cooling down. We cooked out on the grill and many days listened to the roar of thunder and watched in awe as the lightning lit up the sky. The lightning bugs or fire flies as some call them lit up our nightly walks. The webworms have started to form webs on some of the trees showing the first signs of fall are near. While we dearly love summer, we are ready for September, cooler weather and the beauty of fall.
With Love...
The Magic of Flowers
The practice of sending flowers is as old as civilization itself. Flowers, with all their infinite variety and beauty, carry meanings outside of the rational and material experience. Because they are alive, they are like us, temporary passengers on an exhilarating ride. But they are also connected to parts of nature that we never experience. They arise from the soil and enjoy being out in the rain and the sun. They use animals to pollinate and keep the planet alive in the process. The connection between flora and the spiritual realm is a potent one. Keeping the right flowers close to you can hasten divine connectedness. Explore a flower’s unique power and meaning to see if it can enhance your spiritual practice.
The Aster
The aster flower carries a variety of meanings, but in general, the flower mainly represents love, wisdom and faith. In Victorian Culture the aster represents daintiness, patience and charm. The aster is the official birth flower for the month of September. When burnt, the odor emitted by the asters is known to ward off serpents.
The Morning Glory
Tenacity and tenderness in all things, be gentle but strong in your endeavors with other people, animals and nature. Above all hold fast to your goals.
September Horoscopes
Virgo
Virgo is the sixth astrological sign in the Zodiac. Virgo is the second-largest constellation. It spans the 150-180th degree of the zodiac, between 152.75 and 180 degree of celestial longitude. Virgos are always paying attention to the smallest details and their deep sense of humanity makes them one of the most careful signs of the zodiac. Their methodical approach to life ensures that nothing is left to chance, and although they are often tender, their heart might be closed for the outer world. Virgo exists in the mind, everything is inside. To the world, Virgo presents a calm and collected exterior but, on the inside, nervous uncontrolled intensity in the mind, trying to figure things out, how to improve everything, analyzing and thinking. Virgo can tire itself out without even moving! Virgo has a constant drive to improve and perfect, this can lead to extreme pickiness and finickiest. They are pure, their motives are honest never malicious, and they want to accomplish something.
Libra
Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the Zodiac. It spans 180°–210° celestial longitude. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun transits this area on average between September 23 and October 23, and under the sidereal zodiac, the sun currently transits the constellation of Libra from approximately October 31 to November 22. The symbol of the scales is based on the Scales of Justice held by Themis, the Greek personification of divine law and custom. She became the inspiration for modern depictions of Lady Justice. The ruling planet of Libra is Venus. Libra is the only zodiac constellation in the sky represented by an inanimate object. The other eleven signs are represented either as an animal or mythological characters throughout history.
Tarot of the Month

For September, this 3 card reading will address the first 10 days, the middle 10 days and the last 10 days in order. From the 1st to the 10th we have the Eight of Swords. This can be a difficult situation to deal with. There may be restrictions in your life that you would like to be freed from. It is also a mentally stressful occasion that requires clarity of thinking and forethought to resolve. If you keep your wits about you and refuse to be depressed you will manage to sail through this time with flying colors and be amazed at your strength of will when you have come out of the other end of the fog and retrospectively look back on how well you handled yourself and the dilemma you had faced. Endurance is the key to coping right now and your decisions may have far-reaching consequences. You will find you have matured throughout the process of dealing with your problems. You may have to let go of relationships and friendships and this will prove to be an unburdening for you and allow you the freedom to pursue your own goals.
Do not be dismayed by these goodbyes, for they are a necessary part of your new path to follow, unhindered by a lifestyle that had cramped your style and your latent talents. Now you will start to blossom and to produce good works in whatever field you focus on right now. Allow flexibility in your thinking for fresh ideas and ways of doing things will open new doorways to your true destiny. From the 11th to the 20th we have the Knight of Swords. Now may be the time for a new adventure. It’s time for a new adventure. Are you feeling restless and need to get away? Take that chance, that new opportunity that has just presented itself and just go. Do it. Go there. Life is not for stagnation, but then again, you always knew that. If you are not the querent and this card appears, then there is a somewhat restless person about to enter your life fleetingly. He will not stay too long. He has other plans, other dreams. Do not try to put chains around his neck or tie him down to the drudgery of the 9 to 5 routine in any way. He will leave quicker than you can say his name. He knows his destiny, and you are just a stop over point on his quest for far greater experiences. From the 21st to the 30th we have the King of Pentacles. On this card we see a man seated on a throne. He looks regal and sophisticated. He holds a scepter in his hand. This man is very serious about financial security and has made the accumulation of funds his main preoccupation in life. He is very proud of his achievements and willing to show others his prized possessions. At this time in his life he is probably aged around late thirties to early forties. His work may involve him in the field of banking or the stock-market. The main aim of his life is to be financially secure and then he can relax in his later years in luxury and comfort. Appearances are important to him and to this end he dresses very conservatively and smartly. Comfort is also a factor in his well made and expensive attire. The aim is to appear wealthy, which is his ultimate goal. Usually he rides the wave of success in mid life and is therefore able to display an air of authority and confidence in his position. Others respect him for his determination and passion to succeed.
He has mastered his life successfully and is usually married with a few children. His wife is conscious of his material desires and needs and accepts her role as the caretaker of all he owns. To sum up the month, there will be lots of a need for clarity, new adventures and excitement and financial security. Enjoy the end of summer into autumn and focus on your highest aims as the seasons change.

Love
About a month ago someone told me I couldn’t love. Me, unable to love? My soul’s purpose is to heal humans through love. I am here to see everything someone is worth: what scares them, their fears, their insecurities, what they love, what makes them feel safe, their light & their darkness, and still chose to love them for all of it. So, when I was told I couldn’t love it really made me start to wonder; What is love?
As humans we use vulnerability and emotions to enter into relationships we know/hope have a future. For the most part that’s why people won’t leave unhealthy relationships, because thats the only person they’ve been vulnerable for in such a long time, and they don’t want to start over. Human logic tells us it is pointless to be emotional fluid with someone unless there is an intentional future.
I encourage my clients to practice vulnerability and emotions with someone even if they aren’t “their person” and 9/10 times I’m met with, “but what’s the point?” Practice. Practice is the point.
I practice emotional fluidity and vulnerability so often that I can be 100% vulnerable and emotional for someone and still easily walk away. I can fully care but not care enough to stick around when the situation no longer serves my highest good. I believe that’s what they meant by saying I couldn’t love. Humanly speaking, an ability to love fully and still walk away exemplifies an inability to love (ie: if you loved me you wouldn’t leave regardless of what I put you through), because for a lot of human’s love is suffering.
So, what is love? Love is the practice of freely expressing emotions and showing vulnerability without any expectation for an outcome. You love because you love. Humans rarely say “I love you” unless they know the other person already loves them, or the other person says it first.
Love is the fearless practice of vulnerability and emotional fluidity, so that when it comes time to leave, we can walk away confidently knowing that love is everywhere.

The fall equinox is approaching quickly! It is a time for balance, preparation and reflection. It is the halfway point through the astrological year, and it is the time to begin the harvest from the seeds planted during the spring.
Here is a list if ways to celebrate the autumn equinox:
1. Go apple picking. Apples symbolize knowledge and prosperity.
2. Make smoke bundles by gathering your favorite fresh herbs and trying them together with thin twine. Allow them to dry in a cool dark place until they are ready to burn.
3. Have a bonfire party. Enjoy dancing, singing and drumming with friends and family.
4. Make corn dolls and homemade fall crafts for your home out of acorns, multicolored corn and leaves.
5. Meditate. Take time to go within and reflect, review the past in preparation for the future.

Blue Lace Agate
Blue Lace Agate has a soft, soothing elegance; like sky-blue waters released from winter's grasp. Its graceful, circular design has a stimulating, positive effect on emotions and attitude. It is not a stone of protection, but rather of encouragement and support. Its circular flowing energy calms, uplifts and elevates.
Blue Lace Agate is a stone of communication, helping those who have difficulty being heard by others, or who need confidence and articulation to share their truths. It provides clarity of thought and unwavering intent in regard to what matters most. Blue Lace Agate is a Stone of the Diplomat, assisting communication in situations were angry words must be avoided, but clear understanding is necessary
Blue Lace Agate is a variety of banded Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. It is usually banded in layers of predominantly light blue, striped with brighter blues, whites, and even brown threads of color. Agate is sometimes called the earth rainbow because, in its various forms, the concentric bands in nature form nearly every color the earth can produce, including a colorless form.
Historically, Agate has been discovered with the artifacts of Neolithic people and was used as healing amulets and ornamentation dating back to Babylon. Its medicinal uses continued through the ancient Greek and Egyptian civilizations and spread throughout Africa and the Middle East into Russia. Agate sparked a world-renowned stone cutting and polishing industry in Germany that flourished from the 15th to the 19th century and exists today.
Metaphysically, Agate has a lower intensity and vibrates to a slower frequency than other stones but is highly regarded as a stabilizing and strengthening influence. The layered bands of microscopic quartz in Agate may appear delicate, they are actually very strong. Agate is excellent for balancing emotional, physical and intellectual energy, and in harmonizing yin and yang, the positive and negative forces of the universe.
Blue Lace Agate Uses and Purposes
Blue Lace Agate inspires loyalty and trustworthiness. It is a support crystal for all caregivers, calming stress-related situations and overcoming communication difficulties. Carry or wear Blue Lace Agate if you struggle to express your emotions without getting upset.
Blue Lace Agate counteracts the repression and suppression of feelings caused by past fears, judgments, or rejections. It dissolves old blockage patterns and doubt and permits new methods of self-expression and growth. Blue Lace Agate is especially beneficial in helping men realize and accept their feelings and sensitivities.
As a support crystal, Blue Lace Agate assists those who fear speaking in public or sharing thoughts and ideas with strangers. It is a great stone for those who communicate for a living, such as workshop directors, lecturers, teachers, or anyone who must connect in a clear, intelligent manner. Blue Lace Agate also tranquilizes and relaxes the mind of executives, and calms stress in postal workers.
Blue Lace Agate's calm, centering properties also aid those who are unable to stop talking, or who speak before thinking about the consequences of their words. It encourages discernment about the thoughts they share and the beauty of inner silence. It helps those who have trouble keeping a secret and promotes understanding in the sanctity of trust. It is an excellent stone for imaginative children who present created stories and may need help in discerning whether an event was real or imagined.
Agate promotes inner stability, composure, and maturity. Its warm, protective properties encourage security and self-confidence. It is a great crystal to use during pregnancy. Agate also helps new mothers avoid the "baby blues" sometimes experienced after giving birth, and an Agate jewel worn between the breasts encourages lactation.Upcoming Events
