Rose Lane Principal Letter...
No doubt about it - this has been a Fantastic February! Here's why:
- Our Parent-Teacher Conferences were so well attended! We always enjoy sharing our students' success with you, listening to your concerns, and working together to help your child. Also, the staff very much appreciated the candy apple bar and baked potato bar set up Mrs. Montiel, Mrs. Tivis, and Mrs. Kunberger!
- The Family Friendship Dance was so much fun! The decor was so beautiful, the DJ was outstanding, and the food trucks - yummy!!! Thank you to our Rocket Boosters for funding this event, and for putting on such a great party.
- Right on the heels of the dance, we had our Candy Gram sale, led by Mrs. Castaneda and Mrs. Parra. We are so grateful to everyone who helped collect the order forms, write out the Candy Grams, put in the lollipops, and deliver them to classrooms.
- On Thursday, we had our second picture day of the year. The kids looked adorable in their dressiest clothes! Many thanks to the parents who helped this event run smoothly.
We also had our first performance at the Madison Center for the Arts on Wednesday, before a standing room only crowd. I'm very proud of our 3rd and 4th grade kids who starred as singers and dancers, and who also created the art display in the lobby which was installed by Mrs. Ewald. Thank you, Rocket Boosters, for recognizing Ms. Longwell and Mr. Roach with gift cards and flowers. And a big shout-out goes to the entire specials area team, and well as the 3rd and 4th grade teachers, for collaborating on such an uplifting performance!
Two of our talented dedicated staff members, Jacqui DiPaola and Stacey Wilson, were named the You Make The Difference and Shining Star awardees for Spring semester. Ms. DiPaola is a member of our 1st grade team, and is very involved in other leadership responsibilities at Rose Lane. Ms.Wilson is well-known to our kindergarten families as one of our paraprofessionals. We are very grateful to them both for the talent, dedication, passion, skill, and love of children which they bring with them to school each day. So proud to know them!!
Finally, please be on the lookout for more information about the community forum to meet the final candidates for next year's principal. This will be an in-person and live-streamed event which will happen before Spring Break, and it will take place in our cafeteria. See you there!
Have a wonderful weekend, stay healthy and safe, and I'll see you on campus!!

news from rose lane's assistant principal...
Hello Rose Lane Families!
I wanted to start off by saying thank you to all of the families who came to watch the 3rd and 4th grade performance this week. What a turn out! It was such an amazing first show for Rose Lane and I cannot wait for all of the shows to come this year! Also, if you have not already, please follow our Instagram page @madisonazroselane. We always post photos of our shows taken from “behind the scenes” on our Instagram and we would love for you to check them out!
I can’t believe we only have two weeks left of quarter 3! The year is flying by so fast! Now more than ever we want to encourage you to make sure your kiddos are at school everyday and on time. As we start to get towards the end of the year we want to make sure that our students are soaking up every bit of knowledge before they go onto the next grade level. There are many crucial learning standards being taught at this time of year and when students miss even a day, this can set them back in their learning. This is especially true for our 3rd and 4th graders who will be taking the AASA assessment in April. Every instructional day makes a difference so we thank you for making sure your kiddos are here!
More information about state testing will be coming out in March so look out for that. Thank you so much for your continued support of our school. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Counseling corner.....
Here at Rose Lane we are always working to support your child socially and emotionally as well as academically. We appreciate all that you do as parents and caregivers! Our classrooms are holding amazing “Community Circles” to increase positive and supportive relationships within the classrooms. They are also using the RULER curriculum’s “Mood Meter” in class to help identify their current emotion and help them have more social-emotional awareness. We are enjoying witnessing all of their growth and watching them SOAR here at Rose Lane.

Audrey Merrill, School Social Worker
Congratulations to Jacqui DiPaola for receiving the "You make the difference" award...
Jacqui is a fantastic teacher and makes a difference every day in the lives of each of her students. She works so hard for her team, and for our campus as a whole, through her involvement in her many committees. She is always willing to help, to try new things, and is a huge team player. Jacqui absolutely deserves this award and is an inspiration to the writer about what kind of teacher she herself wants to be.
Jacqui uses data to drive her instruction, shares ideas and strategies with her team, and constantly seeks to grow her own skills. She is a true model of life-long learning! As a member of the Write From the Beginning training team as well as the RULER team, she has had a huge impact throughout campus over the last four years, especially related to our growth. In the classroom, Jacqui’s students are constantly engaged through a wide variety of strategies, and she firmly believes in the ability of each and every one of her students. She is active as a math tutor after school, and is also a strong member of our PBIS team.
And to Stacey Wilson for receiving the "Shining Star" award!
Stacey Wilson, our Shining Star, began her career at Rose Lane as an outstanding member of our noon duty team. She has since grown into an amazing paraprofessional who supports our students with exceptionalities.
Stacey is able to keep a calm and level head in all situations and help de-escalates students who are dysregulated and need assistance. She takes the initiative to find strategies that are effective for the students she works with. Stacey is always collaborative with all staff members, and readily implements given recommendations. She has such an incredible rapport with our kids, and actively seeks out ways she can support others. She goes above and beyond to build relationships with the staff and students she works with. Stacey actively seeks feedback in order to improve her performance.
Stacey is always willing to provide extra support to the cafeteria at lunch time, adding support to the kindergarten students while they are enjoying lunch. During early release days, she helps prepare materials for KG teachers.
Stacey's sense of humor helps alleviate tension during difficult situations with staff and students. She sets high and clear attainable expectations for her students to reach their full potential. Stacey has a lasting and positive presence around campus and has built relationships with many students across campus, beyond those that she works with directly. She loves Rose Lane and is vigilant about our students’ safety. We are so proud of our Shining Star, Stacey Wilson!
So proud of both of you!

Rose Lane Rocket Boosters News...
Greetings Rose Lane Families,
Well, well, well, our community showed up for the Fun Run this year! Our goal was $30,000 and that goal was surpassed by 14,500! That’s huge, absolutely impressive. By supporting the Fun Run, Rocket Boosters are guarantee to provide teachers with start up cash, our children’s school library will be partially funded, and Rocket Boosters will be able to pay for Lunch Aides. The morning of the Fun Run was a wonderful celebration. Families came out to cheer on their students and met other caregivers. Mrs.Devine and Mr. Reyes brought their sense of humor and received pies in the face before each grade started their run.
To commemorate, Rocket Booster hosted the Family Friendship dance. What a night! No surprise our community event was a blast. Thank you Co vice president Laura Noble and 1st grade teacher Mrs. Maloney for chairing this event. This year Rocket Booster voted to hire a local business to DJ the dance. We saw kids learning the macarena, father daughter dance, mother son dance, and full family dances. 4 willing caregivers did a dance competition that had the crowd going!! We witnessed a long conga line, and leading the way at one point was Mrs. Devine. Thank you to Kindergarten parent, Marlenny Torres, for creating a beautiful balloon arch. Thank you to our vendors who came out as well.
Candy Grams!! Thank your Alex Castaneda and Monica Parra for chairing Candy Grams, and thank you volunteers for hand writing each Candy Grams. Over 1000 Candy Grams were sold this year. Thank you, families, for making our Candy Grams successfully.
Wednesday February 22nd will kick off Spring Showcases held at the Madison Center for the Art. Next spirit day is March 3rd , Storybook Character day.
Congratulations and thank you Amie Ransom for offering her time to be Rose Lane's liaison on the Madison Center for the Arts board.
Our next board meeting will be on Monday March the 6th at 4:30pm. Attend in person in the school Library or online.
With much appreciation,
Rocket Boosters.
