From The Desk Of Principal Roberts
Dear Rattler Families!
I have so many things to share as we head into September. Please excuse the wordiness of this intro. I promise my next one will be much more concise.
This morning we held our first Principal Coffee Talk. It was great to see so many parents/guardians in attendance. We covered all things related to safety and answered questions that came up during the presentation.
Here you will find the slideshow with the information covered this morning. Our next coffee talk will be on September 14th, covering topics focused on our school vision, goals, and action steps to meet the goals we set.
- GEOVISION INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS
LISD has partnered with GeoVisions to hire instructional assistants from out of the country to serve our students. The Steiner community will have four exchange employees, three from Jamaica and one from China. Layla Wang has already started on our campus and is fitting right in with our River Ridge community. Shereva Murphy will start very soon at River Ridge once we get her settled. These ladies will be staying in a two-bedroom apartment. They do not have transportation, any furnishings in their apartment, or essentials. We need to give them our warm River Ridge welcome. Let's make these ladies' homes/lives a little more comfortable while they serve our schools for the next year. A few donations have already been received and will be delivered to the first apartment soon. Numbers are based on four ladies in two apartments. Here is a signup genius if you would like to help! We also will accept gift card donations to Randalls for food and essentials and Uber for transportation.
- SITE-BASED COMMITTEE: RATTLER IMPACT TEAM
Each campus within Leander ISD has a Site-Based Planning Committee called Rattler Impact Team here at River Ridge. This committee aims to improve the achievement of all students. This committee will be composed of district employees, community members, business representatives, and parents. The Rattler Impact Team members provide input to the principal on a wide variety of subjects, including planning, curriculum, budgeting, staff development, staffing patterns, school organization, and school improvements. Should you wish to nominate either yourself for a position on the Rattler Impact Team, please email
Shelley.Roberts@leanderisd.org. Should there be a need, an election will be held to appoint positions to this invaluable team. The Rattler Impact Team will hold its first meeting on
Wednesday, September 28 at 3:00 pm on campus.
