Celebration Of Giving
Elkhorn Elementary/Middle Schools
Celebration of Giving Project
The Elkhorn Elementary and Middle Schools are sponsoring a Gift Drive for families within our Elkhorn community. These Elkhorn families have been identified as needing some special assistance during this time of year. We welcome the opportunity to have parents and children help build a sense of Elkhorn community, with this Giving Project.
The wish lists have been collected from the families, and the mittens will be displayed on the Christmas Tree in the front foyer of Arbor View.
If you would like to participate in this year’s project, here’s what you need to do:
1. Select a mitten with an item(s) that you are comfortable purchasing.
(Only adults are allowed to check out a mitten).
2. Record the mitten(s) you have taken in the Celebration of Giving notebook.
3. Purchase the item(s).
4. Gift wrap the item(s) at home.
5. Firmly secure the mitten(s) to the outside of the wrapped item. This is the only way we know what is inside of the gift and who the gift belongs to.
6. Return the wrapped item to your school, no later than Wednesday, December 8th at 3pm.
You may select a mitten(s), after school, starting on November 22nd and then before and after school beginning on November 23rd– December 2nd.
*Please keep in mind if ordering a gift, shipping times have been lagging. It is ok to purchase gift cards toward an item.
If you have time, I’d love a few volunteers who can help 15mins. before or after school Nov.23-Dec.2nd with recording the mitten information.
Thank you so much for participating! If you have any questions please call/text: Stacie Jones (402)714-2398

From our School Nurse
Note from the Nurse…
As the cold and flu season begins, please continue to make sure that you and your children are practicing healthy habits like getting plenty of rest, eating healthy foods, hand washing/sanitizing, social distancing, wearing a clean face mask, and staying up to date with your immunizations (including a seasonal flu vaccine). Thank you for screening your children daily and keeping them home when they don’t feel well. Here is the link to the screening tool from the Douglas County Health Department for symptomatic students:
Exclusion and Readmittance of Ill Students and Staff
-Health Screens-
Health screens in the areas of height/weight, dental, hearing, and vision have been completed in most of the schools in the district with a few schools finishing up the first week of November. Parents will be notified of abnormal results by a referral letter. If you receive a referral letter, please visit the applicable health care provider and return the bottom part of the form to the office. Thank you so much to the parent volunteers who helped us with this process!
